I’m still in that part of my life where birthdays are exciting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the phase where you can’t sleep the night before and wake up ridiculously early to run downstairs and look at all your presents. But, it is a day that’s still special to me, and where I can indulge in a little bit of love from the people in my life. I don’t ever want to reach the stage when I dread becoming a year older – I like to think that I will continue to celebrate all that the past year has brought me and look forward to what the year ahead may bring.
And let’s be honest – who doesn’t love getting presents? This bit does bring out my inner child – the anticipation, the joy of unwrapping, the moment you glimpse something you’ve wanted for ages, the appreciation that those around you have been so thoughtful and so kind. This year was no different, and I was blessed with some wonderful, gorgeous present that I will treasure for a long time to come.
Firstly, I got a Micheal Kors purse – inspired by my bag and chosen with my preference of a zip-around finish, a particular layout of pockets inside and just the right size, it’s just perfect and is sitting pretty in my investment bag now.
Next up, I got to add to my Pandora charm collection with a very thoughtful giftcard. I chose a Poetic Blooms charm and, of course, a Love Reading pendant charm. How could my bracelet be complete without a nod to my reading obsession? I am loving building up my collection of charms and am wearing my bracelet with a renewed sense of pride.
Next up, I was delighted to receive a new bottle of Princess by Vera Wang. This is one of my signature scents and as my old bottle ran out in December it was so lovely to receive a new bottle to slather myself in.
And finally, a little money came my way, and, of course, I had to spend it on some books. My Amazon wishlist is always so long, and it’s nice every once in a while to be able to indulge myself and order a few things from it. All of these are books I’ve had my eye on for a while, and I can’t wait to read them.
As always, I am extremely grateful for all my gifts. I am one lucky girl! Here’s to what the year brings as a 33 year-old!
